Inspired by the true story of an incredible woman’s faith, desire to create unity and fellowship, and her willingness to follow our Lord’s leading, "Receiving the Vision" was truly a joy to create! I will share more about this visionary soon!
In this painting, a brave young woman is depicted in a moment of prayer, humbly receiving a grand vision that would guide her to create several organizations on a university campus, designed to serve and meet the needs of Black students. These were challenging, dark times, yet the light of God’s love, wisdom, and glory illuminates her face, casting a radiant glow. Her luscious Afro, bathed in this divine light, takes on the semblance of a halo, symbolizing her divine calling and the transformative power of God's guidance.
