Connections 24" x 24" Abstract Oil Painting Print
"Connections" is a vibrant abstract oil painting on a white background, woven with bold accents of black, red, gold, gray, and green. Each brushstroke and symbol carries the essence of a creative discipline, honoring the legacy of Pamoja Connections—a movement born 55 years ago through the vision of Pastor Nawanna Lewis Miller at only 19 years old.
In this work, symbols from each organization radiate across the canvas, forming a living tapestry of unity, resilience, and expression.
Starting in the top left corner, here’s how the organizations appear as you move counter-clockwise around the piece:
The Pamoja Dancers, now Pamoja Dance Company, echoes rhythm and movement; the Pamoja Drama & Arts, now Black Theatrical Ensemble, embodies storytelling and stagecraft; the Pamoja Journalism Association for Minorities, now the National Association of Black Journalists, represents the enduring fight for representation and truth in media; the Pamoja Singers, now Afro-American Choral Ensemble (A-ACE), harnesses the power of voice, celebrating spirituals, choral music, and gospel songs written by Black composers; and the Pamoja Newspaper, now InfUSion Magazine, gives voice to truth and culture.
The composition is both modern and historical—an abstract honoring of artistic, cultural, and journalistic excellence that continues to flourish. "Connections" not only celebrates the organizations themselves but also the shared heartbeat that binds them together: creativity, purpose, and community.
